BCF’s education initiative includes scholarships for underprivileged students from pre-school to post-graduation level. Those needing remedial education are also extended help. This enables bright but marginalized students to avail of quality education through a network of schools, colleges and universities. More than 200 needy students have already benefited from this endeavor since its launch in the year 2009.

Shree Lunkarandas–Ganga Devi Chaudhary Academy for Arts and Literature established ‘Padmkanya Bahumukhi Campus Scholarship Fund’ in July 2014 with a corpus of Rupees 2.5 million. Research fellowship and a gold medal will be awarded to an outstanding lecturer and a degree level student of Nepali language and literature, respectively, who opt for research in these fields.

Sports for Development

BCF acknowledges and appreciates the role of sports in developing team spirit and bringing people together.

Bat and Ball Foundation (B2F), was set up in 2016 for developing sports in Nepal. B2F organized a two-week High-Performance training camp for 32 Nepali cricketers under the supervision Australian test cricketer and coach Dav Whatmore in Kathamndu in January 2017. Dav also conducted a two-day training clinic for Nepali coaches.

BCF supported Phillip Hughes Memorial match organized by Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), in Kathmandu in April 2015.

The foundation also supported an expedition to Mount Everest led by Guinness Book record holder Ms. Chhurim Sherpa, who conquered the world’s highest peak twice in a week in 2011. Sherpa and her team were expected to carry one of Hughes’s bat and jersey belonging to the deceased Austrian cricketer to the summit. However, the expedition had to be aborted because of the April 2015 earthquake which rocked Nepal.
