Earthquake Relief, 2015

BCF was in the forefront of providing relief to victims of the 2015 earthquake which devastated Nepal. The foundation leveraged its resources and network to reach out to disaster-hit people in different areas of the country. The great temblor claimed nearly 9000 lives and caused massive damage to property, infrastructure and environment. Nepal’s GDP crashed to an unpreceded low.

  • Nine districts mainly Kathamndu, Bhaktapur, Dhanusha, Kavre, Dhading, Gorkha, Hetauda, Chitwan and Sindhupalchowk received relief aid in form eatables, shelter equipment and other daily necessities of life. BCF also organized medical camps supervised by doctors from Norvic International Hospital in Baramchi Sindhupalchowk. Both medical and non-medical relief items were distributed among quake-affected people.
  • BCF also contributed NPR 5.1 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
